A protest rally was held in Dumdum on Saturday against the recent violence in Murshidabad, with senior BJP leaders Dilip Ghosh and Locket Chatterjee joining the march. The rally saw significant participation from locals and party workers demanding justice for the victims of the riots.

Speaking at the rally, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of favoring rioters over victims. He alleged that Banerjee was afraid of losing the elections scheduled for April 26 and was relying heavily on Muslim votes while disregarding the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Ghosh claimed that Mamata Banerjee has labeled rioters as "peace ambassadors" and has deliberately avoided visiting the victims in Shamsherganj and Huliyan. "Hindus will give their answer on 26th," he asserted, while also accusing Banerjee of instigating riots for political gain.

Locket Chatterjee echoed similar sentiments, criticizing the state government for failing to protect common citizens. She emphasized the growing demand among people for the deployment of central forces, as the local police were seen as ineffective and partisan.

The BJP leaders alleged that Mamata Banerjee was attempting to intimidate the Hindi-speaking community to consolidate her vote bank. They insisted that the public no longer trusted the state administration and demanded immediate action to ensure free and fair elections.

The protest in Dumdum added to the growing political tension in Bengal, with BJP vowing to continue their agitation until justice is delivered and proper law and order is restored.
